I am a Shareholder and head the Domestic Relations/Family Law Section at Hertz Schram PC in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan. I am a graduate of Michigan State University College of Law (formerly known as the Detroit College of Law). My entire practice focuses on Family Law matters. I am also a member of the Hague Convention Attorney Network, an organization created to assist parents seeking to invoke the Hague Child Abduction Convention in the United States.

I have been practicing law nearly 24 years and currently accept matters solely involving issue of family law. For the first fifteen years of my law career, I handled a variety of cases including but not limited to family law, contract litigation, general civil litigation, asbestos litigation, plaintiff’s personal injury and criminal defense. I decided about ten years ago that I did not wish to be a “jack of all trades” but rather to be an expert in a single area of law. My passion for working with individuals and knowing that my assistance can have a significant and positive impact not only my client, but their children’s lives was the motivator for my decision to exclusively practice family law.

I began my career working as an in-house corporate attorney in Detroit, Michigan. Having a strong desire to help people during one of the most difficult times in their lives, I transitioned from corporate law to family law.  I am passionate about helping people find a better way to resolve disputes affecting them and their family. My combined experiences in corporate law, in-house counsel, and family law make me comfortable and well-versed in litigating and/or mediating the complicated financial situations often part of divorce settlements.

I have gone through a divorce and had two young children at the time. I know first hand the concerns and anxiety that clients have during the divorce process. I can counsel you through the process and assist you to achieve your goals and bring your case to resolution.
